People always seem to be surprised when I tell them that I don’t read or watch the news, but I don’t really have to—I know what it says. And it’s just going to depress me. Fortunately, I’ve surrounded myself with articulate, conscientious people who keep me more informed than most of the populace. And I don’t have to look at a single affected news anchor or poorly written article. If you make the effort to be this source of information for even one person, you can shift focus towards real issues, regardless of the media’s agenda setting.
